WHY ME?
WHY MY CLASS?
For the last decade, I've been writing and researching what it takes to be a good writer. I have a bachelor's degree in Political Science, which pushed me into writing and research. Transitioning to fiction writing fell right into place, and I published my first novel in 2014. Since then, I have published one more book and written two. I'm currently revising my latest manuscript and hope to join my fellow writers in the query trenches in September.
In need of establishing my fiction writing credentials, I'm in the Creative Writing Development and Editing program at the University of Calgary. The program has taught me what elements go into well-written stories, and it's formed the way I want to teach writing and the experiences I want to offer.
When I am not writing, reading or doing homework, I am a member of an online writing group, Paperbacks & Co, where I lead the Wednesday evening sessions. I'm an alumni of Adrienne Young's, Writing With Soul, where I learned the different ways of storytelling. During my time with WWTS, I am in a weekly critique group that meets every Sunday.
My years of study have taught me that there is no book, just a book that isn't finished yet.
